White Kitchen Reveal

I am so excited to show you all my new white kitchen!
We still need to do the countertops, but that may be a while,
so I couldn't wait any longer.

We removed all the doors and painted them in the garage.
We started painting by hand, but soon realized a paint gun
would be worth the money.
Brian ran to Home Depot and bought one.
We loved it, and it did a great job,
but we made the HUGE mistake of not covering the
floor and everything else too.
(I must also add that we tried to use the paint gun about a month later
and it wouldn't work, not sure why but it may have been too cold, or we didn't clean it enough).

We lived like this for a week.

But the results were so worth it.
The kitchen feels so much bigger and brighter.

I actually really liked my red cabinets, but they made the kitchen feel dark and dated.

We painted the dining table too.
I love how fresh everything feels.

I am trying to decide if we will do the countertops in granite to match the island, or if we will do wood.
Neither is in the budget right now.

The color we used is Cotton Fluff by Behr in semi gloss.
It is a creamy white.
We used 3 coats of paint, and then a couple of coats of polycrylic.

I found this hutch on Craigslist and painted it to match the cabinets.

  1. That is a kitchen you will love walking into each morning for many years to come. We did something similar a few years ago and I'm still impressed. Your kitchen is a very nice size. My daughter and I both love your floors!

  3. The white does indeed make your kitchen look brighter and bigger! I love it - great job. That is a job for my kitchen cabinets on the "someday" list.
